Sex Therapy:
Sex, Sexuality, and Gender Identity Exploration
Sex Therapy with a Sex Positive Approach
What is Sex Therapy with a Sex-Positive Approach?
This therapy is an affirming, non-judgmental approach to sexual health that focuses on client autonomy, consent, and pleasure. It recognises sexual diversity across orientations, identities, desires, and relationship styles, and seeks to reduce shame, improve communication, and enhance sexual wellbeing whether individually or within the context of the client’s relationships with their partner(s)! Sex therapy is not a quick fix and does not offer explicit sexual techniques outside of a therapeutic context. With the help of your therapist (That’s me!), clients explore values and boundaries, address distressing sexual symptoms or behaviours, and gain support using evidence-based strategies for changing patterns or resolving difficulties without imposing moralising judgments.

What about Sexuality and Gender Identity Exploration?
You don’t need to have all the answers to begin. Therapy focused on Sexuality and Gender Identity Exploration offers a safe, supportive space to discover who you are, cultivate self‑compassion, and make choices that fit your life. Sessions prioritize your autonomy and safety, and acknowledge that identities can be fluid, intersectional, and deeply personal.
Therapy with me can help you clarify values and reduce shame when present, while also providing education about identity and language, support around “inviting others in,” addressing relationship & sexual health concerns, and collaborating on steps such as gender‑affirming care when appropriate.
